Yul Edochie has said that he is a "hard-core traditionalist" and he criticised Africans for abandoning the African religion. The actor took to Facebook to share a photo of himself in traditional attire, with a chalk lining the bottom of his eye. In the caption, he wrote: "Because of fear of what people will say, Africans are running away from their powerful African religion, their originality. Abomination!!! "I will NEVER abandon the ways of my forefathers. It is built on truth, transparency, and fairness. "Im a Hardcore Traditionalist."

Yul's statement comes after his attempt to become a pastor and start an online church, failed. This is not the first time Yul has advocated for a return to African tradition.
