I was partially deaf without knowing it - Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has shared a personal experience of unknowingly suffering a 25 per cent hearing loss.  He made this revelation on Sunday October 20, during a visit to the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman-Adamu. Speaking about his experience, Obasanjo recounted a time when he was abroad and struggled to hear someone speaking to him. Initially dismissing the issue, he allowed a medical professional to examine his ears, only to discover that he had lost 25 per cent of his hearing capacity. After my result came out, I had to ask the man to also check on my Chief Security Officer then, but shockingly enough, he was more deaf than I was, Obasanjo said. This experience inspired the former president to create the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation, which has since partnered with Starkey Hearing Foundation to provide ear treatment and hearing aids to thousands of Nigerians. Obasanjo announced plans to distribute hearing aids to approximately 10,000 indigent people in the North-East region of Nigeria, starting with 2,000 beneficiaries in Bauchi State. This initiative aims to assist those with hearing impairments and improve their quality of life. The post I was partially deaf without knowing it - Obasanjo appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
