2025 Romance Books By Your Favorite Authors

3 hours ago 3

I don’t always read romance, but when I do, you better bet it’s by one of these authors. Maybe not exclusively, but you get the idea. I’m choosy when it comes to romance: I want it to be really good and exactly what I’m looking for. I just think that means my tastes are discerning, so you can trust me when I say these romance authors are some of my—and the internet’s—favorites for a reason. They’re tried and true champions of the romance genre with bestselling books under their belt. Not only do each of these authors have a great backlog of books you can dive into, they also each have new releases coming out this year. Your favorite romance author? With a new book coming out this year? More likely than you think.

Now’s the time to get on your library’s hold list for these books, because once they’re released, it’ll be too late. Too late to read them right away, at least. If you don’t mind waiting half a year to read a new book then you and I are very different people, but you do you, I guess. One way or another, these books by fan-favorite authors are sure to be some of the most popular romances this year.

cover of Deep End by Ali Hazelwood; illustration of a man's hand holding a woman's hand against the side of a pool

Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

Release date: February 4, 2025

Oh, Ali Hazelwood. I’ll never get tired of your STEM romances about whip-smart women who don’t think they’re good enough and the too-tall hunks who fall for them immediately. Throw in a little Olympic-level competitive swimming in Deep End, and it’s safe to say we’re going to have another Hazelwood hit coming our way. I’ve already joined the months-long waiting list to get my hands on this book from my library. Worth it.

I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com by Kimberly Lemming

Release date: February 18, 2025

Step aside Mead Mishaps, Kimberly Lemming has a new SFF rom-com series, and it’s all about the hot aliens now. When Dorothy’s abducted and dropped onto a strange new planet full of anachronistic dinosaurs from various eras, she’s scared, confused, and more than a little bit angry. So when two drop-dead gorgeous horned aliens show up, each claiming she’s their fated mate, they’ll just have to come along for the ride, because Dorothy’s going to figure out who’s in charge here and then give them a piece of her mind. This book is the polyamorous alien love triangle of my dreams.

Flirting Lessons book cover

Flirting Lessons by Jasmine Guillory

Release date: April 8, 2025

A queer romance from Jasmine Guillory? What have we done to deserve this good fortune? The brilliant mind of Jasmine Guillory who brought us The Wedding Date, The Proposal, Party of Two, and Royal Holiday, is back with a new contemporary romance about a series of flirting lessons that soon turn into something more. Now if that doesn’t sound like the perfect premise for a romance novel, I don’t know what does.

Dream On Ramona Riley book cover

Dream On, Ramona Riley by Ashley Herring Blake

Release date: May 13, 2025

I adore Ashley Herring Blake’s sapphic rom-coms, so you know anytime I see she has a new book coming out, it’s going directly onto my TBR. In Dream On, Ramona Riley, a small-town waitress who’s given up on her dreams of becoming a costume designer finds a possible second chance when a Hollywood film comes to town. Unfortunately, the lead actress also happens to be the first woman she ever kissed. Ramona remembers Dylan. Too bad Dylan doesn’t seem to remember her. The fact that Dylan’s now shadowing her at the restaurant to prepare for her role means there’s no getting away from each other or the instant chemistry between them.

Those aren’t the only new romance books by your favorite authors to keep an eye on this year. Here are 10 others:
