Throughout the year, I shout out queer books coming out each month, with even more queer new releases as weekly bonuses for All Access members. I keep track of these upcoming releases with a spreadsheet, which has been growing out of control in recent years. I already have more than 300 titles on my 2025 list, and I have about a dozen lists of upcoming LGBTQ releases bookmarked to expand that even further.
This year, I had the brainwave to not delete books off that list once they’ve come out—instead, I just moved them to a different tab. I don’t know why I haven’t been doing this all along, because it was a great resource to search for things like queer cozy mysteries.
Well, we’re at the end of the year, and I’ve completely moved over to 2025 releases. The final tally for 2024 queer releases on my spreadsheet comes to more than 1,000 titles. I want to emphasize that this is not a complete list: there are always queer books that I miss, and I don’t even try to keep track of all the queer self-published books, because there are far more of those.
If you want to take a look at this not exhaustive but still pretty thorough list of queer books that came out this year, I’ve linked the spreadsheet below for paid subscribers. It includes the title and author of each book, the date it came out, the queer representation, and the genre. Download a copy and sort or filter for the books you’re most interested in!
